The Biodiesel Station is Open Again PDF Print E-mail

The Biodiesel Station, Sydney's first dedicated biofuel station. This news may be a little dated, as I only remembered to post it up here when a forum member reminded me, but it is still good news for anyone who did not already know.

The Biodiesel Station has re-opened and is supplying biodiesel and biodiesel blends to the public.

There is also a workshop  (Frank's Automotive) attached to the station, where you can find biodiesel friendly mechanics.

The pricing is set to be quite competitive with petroleum diesel and they are open 6 days a week, from early until late. Please check their site for more information .

Sydney Biodiesel Picnic – Sunday March 11th 2007, Randwick. PDF Print E-mail

We had a picnic for the Sydney Biodiesel Community on Sunday 11th March 2007. 

The turn out was much smaller this time, but we all had a good time.

Thanks to Wayne for running the demonstration of how to make biodiesel and to David for taking the photos . A big thanks also to Grimwood Heating who sponsored the day and provided food for us all. Thanks also to everyone who came along for the day, hope to see you all next time.

We are planning on having another bigger event in early June, so please watch this space (and the forum ) for any updates.

 Peats Ridge Festival 2006

 

The Uni of NSW Ecoliving Centre was hosting several workshops at the 2006 Peat's Ridge Festival, including a biodiesel workshop, which I presented at. There were two 1 hour sessions which were both quite well attended on both days. Both sessions ran well over an hour overtime with many good questions afterwards.

An opportunity has just arisen to get B100 biodiesel from a commercially produced source. There will be a mini-tanker from The Biodiesel Station available to us on the morning of Sunday 10/12/06. Please see this thread in the forum for more info .

Sydney Biodiesel Users Group is a site dedicated to helping the biodiesel community in Sydney, NSW, Australia. We provide a place to share information freely among our members and to the Australian public.
We aim to raise public and government awareness of biodiesel and assist the local scene, while promoting the use of biodiesel and waste or used vegetable oil as an alternative fuel for transport.
We also provide a place for Sydney users to discuss biodiesel and SVO/WCO conversions in our biofuels web forum. Of course other Australian users are also welcome.
