Home enthusiasts.
Currently, the Australian Tax Office has determined that home producers of biodiesel should pay their excise at 38c/L. This move has caused nearly all the biodiesel enthusiasts to go underground. This has been to the detriment of the biodiesel scene in Australia. If you think that you will be able to buy biodiesel from a home enthusiast, think again – you will not. It is hard enough to get anyone to admit that they make it for their own use in this taxation environment, let alone to sell it.
Please see the FAQ on taxation for further info on this

Buying biodiesel from the bowser in Sydney?Commercial Producers or Retailers.
There are a few biodiesel producing plants around Australia, not nearly enough, but hopefully this will change in time. In NSW, there are currently two. One in Gosford and the other in Rutherford. The Rutherford plant aims to satisfy large fleets and is not geared to the casual user, however, will happily supply to them in minimum quantities. The Gosford plant is similar, although it is looking to supply its fuel through a distributor in Rozelle. Further details can be found in our forum. There are currently no other known retailers in Sydney, or independent service stations willing to sell this at the bowser. Public demand and our combined efforts will hopefully change this sorry state of local affairs here. Please register in our forum and subscribe to any relevant threads relating to biodiesel supply or local distribution if you want to be informed of any new developments as they happen.
